Some words about me..
I was born and raised in Poland. I started my music education when I was 6 years old and since that time I’ve been playing the piano, than I started to move and use movement as a way of expressing music and my emotions at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan (Poland), where I became a Master of Art (2006 Diploma in Music Chorography/Rhythmik and Piano Improvisation).
In 2009 I finished ‘with distinction’ two years postgraduate studies Rhythmics/EMP at the Hochschule fur Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden.
In 2006 I also finished postgraduate studies, Culture management, at University in Poznan.
Since about 2004 I’ve been working as a freelance dancer, choreographer and rhythmics teacher in Poland and Germany. At the same time, I’ve been working as an assistant for the professor Christine Straumer at the Hochschule fur Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden.
I am a lecturer at the Adam Mickiewicz University.
I’m a member of Institut Rhythmik Hellerau e.V. Dresden. Since 2004 I am involved in International Rhythmics Workshops DALCROZE in Hellerau.
My works I have been showing in Germany, Poland, Spain, Lettland, France, Austria.
I create works at the intersection of music and movement, image and object, light and sound in an effort to discover and weave together new modes of perception. I create solo performances and I also make group works. My work tends to be quite emotional and concerns itself with the phenomenon of existence. I’m interested in asking who we are and why we are here. I’m fascinated with the body's ability to move between the mundane and the transcendent. Moreover, I’m interested in how the presence of the audience creates a space of attention and extraordinary perception.
